Work, work , and what was that? Oh yeah, WORK!

Hey World! I've been having a few people nag on me a little that I need to update my blog a little so I guess here goes. As you can probably guess, I have been working a lot lately. Right now for my practicum in Early Childhood, I work mornings at the child lab on campus in the two-year old class. I teach about twelve two-year olds and let me must say that everyday is a new adventure! (Thank Heavens for washable paint!) I am really having lots of fun and if anyone has a question about two-year olds, I'm pretty much an expert! On top of that I have all my work for school. It is getting down to the end of the semester so that means everything is due. And of course Elementary Education professors don't believe in tests, so I have a ton of final projects, papers, and presentations! Then after school, I go to my real job and guess what I do there, Play some more! YAY! Mom the other day asked me if I was meeting any guys up here in my classes. I'm an Eled major, the only guys I meet are either Married (all guys in the Eled dept. are married) or five years old! Honestly, it is a good thing I love kids because I'm completely surrounded by them. Then my last and most important job is taking care of Heidi. Or maybe it's the other way around. Good thing I got her to look after me! Now I just need to figure out why my fish are so weird! Love to all!

Watch out world, the older and wiser 20 year old Heather is coming to take you on! Happy birthday to me! (oh, something not too happy about today is that I woke up this morning and my fish Squishy had died! SAD!)

I love School! (Good thing I'm going to be a teacher!)

Hello World! Yes I am actually alive, contrary to what people may think! I'm sorry I have kinda fell off the face of the earth, but my life right now is just so busy! (story of my life!) So school is going really great and I absolutely love all of my classes! I am learning so much about how to be a good teacher and the best methods to teach my future students. I don't know why, but learning stuff like this gives me a rush! Anyway I am also doing my practicum in an elementary school in Smithfield. I work in a Kindergarten as the teacher's assistant three days a week. I am there from 7:00 to 4:00 learning how to be a teacher. I help the students, teach reading lessons, lead in daily routines, read to the students, and many other fun things that happen each day in Kindergarten! My favorite thing is when my students run up to me in the halls and and give me a hug and shout "Ms. Mickelsen!" It is the best feeling in the whole world! So along with working at a Kindergarten, full time student, part time job, socializing with friends, being the mom (oh I got a new calling in my ward, I am our Family Home Evening Mom. It is a busy calling, but one of the funnest I have ever had. I gained a husband and 20 kids all in the same day!) my life is going wonderful as ever! I have learned so much being out on my own and in school. I have learned who I am as a person and who I want to become. I have learned what matters most to me in my life and who matters most to me. I have grown so much closer to my Father in Heaven and I have gained an immense passion for gospel and a desire to spread it to the whole world. I am growing up and it is hard to accept that, but I am so grateful for opportunities and special people who have helped me grow up to someone I really want to be and someone I know my Heavenly Father knows I can be! Love to all!

BACK TO SCHOOL

Hey everyone! I hope life is going really well for everyone out there! As for me, it's GREAT! Although I was really sad to see the summer end and really hesitant to start school again, I am loving this new semester already! First I guess I'll just throw this in, but I actually had knee surgery last Thursday! I know, CRAZY uh? Well, I hurt it at the family reunion again and the doctor said we're going to fix it now, so we did! Now I'm trying to get around campus on crutches, but no worries--I've never had so many strange people open doors for me before. It's kinda fun! So anyway, school this semester is going to be extremely busy! I moving along in my program and hopefully will graduate with my degree by the end of next year! YAY! Also, I absolutely love my new roomies! Heidi and me, then Krista our roomie from last year, then Kim who is hillarious, Kristen just got off of her mission a month ago and she is so sweet, and then Sam the new freshman and very cute! We have already clicked so well and I can tell we'll have lots and lots of fun together! I really like our new ward and it seems like things are going well. So I'll keep everyone posted and sorry I will get pictures as soon as I can. Blogs are more fun with pictures!) Love to all!

It's Over!

Hey World! It's me again! I Bet you missed me! Sorry it has been a while! I really hate not having the internet at home, so the only place I can blog is work and of course at work I am supposed to work, so my blogging time is...well, limited! So summer is over, well almost anyway! I am so SAD! This has been one of the funnest summers of my life and now it is almost over! Living with Ira and his family has been the funnest thing I have ever done and I will miss it more than anything! Good thing they will be just twenty minutes through the canyon! Oh yeah, quick Ira update: (I'll give you an update cause he can't because well, he doesn't have the internet) So things are going well with the purchasing of their new home. They close on August 13th and hopefully will move in on the 22nd. It is the perfect house for them. There is 5.3 acres, plently of room for Ira to start his little farm with his cows and ducks and goats (goats? yeah he really wants them? I can't imagine why?) The back yard is beautiful and big for the girls to play and the house is just about perfect! Jeniel is so excited to finally be able to decorate and put up her pictures and unpack all the boxes! Ira is doing well at his new job and they just love him at the clinic! The girls are growing so fast and Madyson is excited to start Kindergarten. I think her mom is a little sad to see her grow up so fast and start school! Jeniel and I are having so much fun reading Breaking Dawn and making cards. We found a new obession so we spend at least two hours a day in her craft room stampin' cards! I love it! I am so glad that things are turning out well for Ira and his family because they deserve so many blessings! I will miss them! So back to the sadness of my summer ending! School starts soon and I don't think I'm ready but ready or not-here it comes! I will be excited to live with Heidi again and see some of my new friends again! Well got to go! Love to all!

SUMMER!

Hey world! It has been a while since I talked to ya so let me fill you in! Sorry it has taken so long, but Ira doesn't have the internet yet, well, technically he doesn't have a computer anymore either so after they get a new one (the old one finally kicked the bucket) we'll get the internet and you'll be so priveledge to hear from me more often. And I might throw in some picture now and again so beware! I'm still living with Ira and fam in Honeyville and I love it! (the living with Ira not the Honeyville thing!) The girls are so much fun! Some mornings I get the cutest wake up call! My room is right next to their's so I wake up to the sound of them talking. "Let's go wake up Heather!" "OKAY!" Then I watch three adorable little girls creep through my door. I close my eyes pretending to be asleep and then they run up to me and jump on me saying "Get up Header!" We love to go swimming out in the back yard while Jeniel and I work on our tans! (well, I mean sun burns! ha ha ha) Also I think Jeniel and I have a new addiction no thanks to Heidi and Miquelle! WE LOVE TWILIGHT! Jeniel and I read it together out loud like while we're making breakfast or lunch or sitting outside and we can't put it down! It is such a good book and it is really fun to read together! So this summer is going by really fast and I don't like it at all! I hope everyone else is having a good summer! Love to all!

Honeyville!

Hey Fam! Finally I think I am settled for a while. These last two weeks I've been living at home, driving to California, spending time at the ranch, driving north, driving south, living with Jed and Nanci, staying overnight at work, and moving to Ira's house in Honeyville. Oh Boy! I'm really going to love not living out of a suit case. Gosh I've been bouncy around so much I feel like no one wants me! :( So anyway now I am moved in with Ira and his fam. The house they have is nice, but I don't think they want to be in it for very long. This last week I have been helping unpack things and entertaining the little girls. They are just so excited that this new house has a sand box in the back! Right now I am just working as much as I can and helping Jeniel organize all their stuff! Honeyville is a nice little town and the drive to Logan from Ira's house is really nice. Some of those house are GORGEOUS! Well that my life so far, just working and always having a good time! Love to all!

ROAD TRIP!!!!

Hey Fam! Me, Heidi, and our roommate Justine did the coolest thing this past week! We went on a Road Trip to California! A couple months back we bought tickets to a broadway musical and planned a whole trip to go to Los Angeles. So we left early Tuesday morning. California or Bust! We had fun on the trip singing Disney and Newsies and of course the Wicked soundtrack. Sometimes I got a little bored so I made some funny videos! It was so fun and we had such a good time!

WICKED!!!!!

So the whole reason we came on this road trip was to come and see the Broadway Musical Wicked at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood. It was totally AWESOME! I loved it! I don't know how many of you know the story of Wicked but it is so good! The music is so amazing and of the stage special effects where really cool! We had such a good time and it is definitely a night I will remember forever! Oh and our Hotel was so close to the HOLLYWOOD sign! Sweet!

Santa Monica Beach

On Wednesday Morning we woke up early and drove to Santa Monica Beach! I haven't seen the pacific ocean since our trip to Mexico with the Jackson family. It was so pretty except for the fact that it was over cast all day but still really fun! It was a nice HUGE beach and see had fun running around and getting in the water! I love the Beach!!!! Also we made our Wicked Shirts and wore them all day! They are pretty cool if I do say so myself!

Hollywood Wax Museum!

We went to the Hollywood Wax Museum and the Guinness Book of World Records Museum on Hollywood Blvd. In the wax museum it is just full of wax models of all these different celebrities that look so real. We had fun taking funny pictures of all the celebrities. I enjoyed sailing off into the sunset with Orlando Bloom and chilling with Zoro!

Disney Soda Shop!

Walking down Hollywood Blvd. was so fun to see all the cool buildings and attractions. We got to see Disney's El Capitan Theater where they only show Disney Movies. Also right next to it was this little Disney Soda Shop and we stopped and had dinner. I had spaghetti and it was Delicious! We also had ice cream and shopped around in the Disney Store for some souvenirs.
Heidi loved it!

Crazy Roommates!

WOW! I love my roomies! We have so much fun together and we can get a little crazy sometimes! We went ice skating for family home evening and we had tons of fun! I think I spent more time on the ground then on my feet! We just have so much fun together!

Hamiltons!

Also for Easter weekend, Heidi and I took each other out to dinner to a fancy place called Hamiltons! Heidi got a nice steak and I got delicious chicken cordon bleu! We really spoiled each other!

Easter!

Since me and Heidi didn't go home for Easter, we had our own little celebration! We colored Easter eggs and rolled them down Old Main Hill! We also had the "Easter Bunny" come! Well, actually Dad gave us a package with kites and candy filled eggs. It wasn't as good as Easter at the ranch, but me and Heidi had lots of fun together!

Broken!

Hey my fam! Guess What? I did it again!!! I broke my arm! This will be the third time for my right arm! Well, not really broken, I just fractured the bone a little bit. The story is really quite funny and leave it to me to hurt myself right before finals. I was roller blading with a bunch of friends (at about 10:30 PM Monday night) and well, I don't really like gravity. We don't get along very well. So I was kinda going down this hill really really (really) fast and I didn't survive the journey. My legs totally came out from under me, I flew in the air about five feet, landed on my behind and my phone in my back pocket (the phone came out worse then I did), and also landed on my right arm, slid another five feet on my behind, and finally stopped at the bottom of the hill in the gutter. It all happened so fast and the only thing I really can remember is all my friends yelling at me to stop. Believe me, I tried! So anyway to make a long and rather exciting story short, I have a nice and incredibly uncomfortable splint on my arm restricting my ability to perform simple every day tasks that I have previously taken for granted like brushing my hair and tying my shoes. But all is well! Finals are only two weeks away and I still can't write or type very well, but everything will work out! (Oh Thanks Heidi for helping me with my math last night, I had a hard time drawing my shapes!) As for my phone, it is in critical condition and I don't think it is going to make it! The doctors are doing all they can, but I think I'm going to have to put it down. So many memories! I'm really going to miss it! Also, I'm going back to the doctor in ten days to get this splint off (YAY!) and see if I need a cast so everyone pray that my arm will heal! Love you all!

Spring Break!

I just had a really fun spring break! Mom, Dad, Kyan, Whit, and I drove down to Zions National Park on Thursday and and spent some time hiking around. Whit and I fulfilled one of her life goals and hiked Angel's Landing. It took a little over three hours to hike and boy was it a hike! Whit and I had fun climbing through tunnels and skipping up the switchbacks (ok so we didn't skip more like trudged, but we did skip down them!) It was a long way to the top and towards the end the trail takes you on this narrow ridge where there is a cliff on one side and a cliff on the other! It was awesome! We finally made it to the top and we could see for miles and miles! Then we took so pictures of us chasing the squirrels and hanging out over the edge (don't freak out dad!) It was a fun time I got to spend with my lil sis!

College Life

I love college! USU is a pretty fun school and I have even better roommates! The cool thing about our apartment (G-Unit!) is that there are three sets of sisters! Heidi and I-- Krista and Michelle-- Justine and Makenna. We have a lot of fun together! For each of our birthdays we went to Angies to "Clean the Sink!" Then just recently we had a competition between sisterhoods to see who could clean one the fastest, Heidi and I dominated cleaning the full sink between the two of us! We were pretty full afterwards! We have decided to stay together next year too, except Makenna is getting married soon and Michelle is going on a mission, but G4 will live on!
