A promise of more to come!

Ok, so I realize that most of my family and friends don't even look at my blog anymore since I haven't posted something since August. Well, since this is a great time of year to think about the things that you would like to change in your life, I've decided that blogging could be a simple change for the better. So here is my promise. I will start taking more pictures (another new year resolution) and keep my family and friends updated more on this blog. Like all resolutions, we'll see how long this lasts!
It's not like Garrett and I haven't been up to much because we are so busy and have so much going on. I am enjoying my first year teaching in Kindergarten (which everyday is an adventure and I come home exhausted) and I have just been called to be the Primary President in our ward. Garrett just finished another semester of school, switching his major, signing up for classes, and keeping his wife from going crazy! So we're pretty busy and just love life. We have a break for the next to weeks which will be full of being lazy, taking naps, reading books, and pretty much doing nothing beside being with our wonderful families. I have my camera and I promise to post some great things about our fabulous Christmas Break!

"I love you Teacher!"

One of the things I love the most about working with children is that they are so eager to make things for you. Cards, pictures, stories-I absolutely love it and I keep everything they have ever given me. This endearing quality inspired me to create a place in my classroom where this precious work could be displayed and valued. Of course I asked the greatest dad in the world to help me accomplish my task. My request- A giant magnet board, Dad's reply- No Problem!

This past week Mom and Dad came to visit and Dad built me this amazing (and big!) magnet board. This board is about 3 feet wide and 4 feet high and it is absolutely perfect! Just think of how much I will be able to display on my board and how good the kids will feel.

I found some great paper to cover the sides and Mom encouraged me to make some really cute magnets.

Of course I had the perfect place for my board-right behind my desk!

I also thought I would show you a picture of my room. (I still have a little more work to do before school starts!)

I just want to say thanks to Mom and Dad for everything. In one day Garrett and I got a new (well new to us) freezer, an exercise machine, a fixed desk, a fixed dresser drawer, every door in the house fixed, an amazing magnet board for my classroom, and a great time with Mom and Dad! You're the best!
I'm so excited to be a teacher!

Slumber Party!!!

This weekend the girls came over and we had a slumber party!!! It was so much fun and something we've been planning all summer.
Of course we had pizza for dinner!

After dinner we became painting princesses! I got a birdhouse for each of the girls and we spent a long time using our magic paintbrushes.

These girls are really great artists and the bird houses turned out beautiful!

We played Strawberry Shortcake games!

We watched The Swan Princess. (With popcorn of course!)

And at the end of the day, we were really good at the slumbering part!

In the morning, we had a great breakfast and the girls and I colored pictures. Then Jeniel came over and Garrett watched the kids while Jeniel and I went to a cooking class here in Logan. It was so great and we learned how to make some really good recipes! Thanks Garrett for being so wonderful!

We really had a great weekend and an awesome Slumber Party!

1st Anniversary!!!!

Happy Anniversary!!!! Garrett and I celebrated our first Anniversary this past Saturday! WOW! It is hard to believe that it has been one year already!
Garrett (my wonderful husband!) surprised me with a getaway weekend in Salt Lake. I had no idea what we were doing or where we were going until we pulled into the Anniversary Inn in Salt Lake. This beautiful Bed and Breakfast was so much fun and really cool. Each of their rooms are a different theme and we stayed in the Wild West Room. The scenery was all western including a Saloon bathroom, covered wagon bed, and even a bucket shower. It was so cool. (It actually reminded me a lot of the ranch)

That night Garrett took me to Temple Square where we walked around for a little while.

Then we went to the JS Building and had dinner at The Roof. It was AMAZING! The food was so good and it was so cool to listen to the beautiful piano music and watch the sun set behind the temple.
The next day we spent the day walking around the Gateway (we went into Barnes and Noble and Garrett bought me my favorite childhood book Mouse Soup-if you haven't read it, I highly suggest it!) We saw the new X-Men movie (awesome) and then had lunch!
That night at home Garrett and I had some of our wedding cake. (That cake has been sitting in the freezer for a year and every time I opened the freezer, I would see it and look forward to the day when we would have some again. Also, It kinda got a little smashed in all of our moves, but it still tasted yummy!)

Well, we had a few bites and then it kinda turned into a frosting war! I will admit-I started it, but Garrett sure finished it! (My eyes are watering in the pictures cause Garrett got frosting all over in my eye!)

It was a wonderful 1st Anniversary! It has been the best year and we look forward to many others!
One year down-Forever to go!

Bosshardt Family Trip to Vegas!

For the Bosshardt Family Trip this summer, we went to VEGAS! It was a lot of fun and a great time to spend with the whole Bosshardt Family!
We stayed at Tahiti Village which was a really nice place. The pool was really nice and they even had a lazy river!
Garrett's cousins are pretty much all girls so of course...we had to go shopping! There was an outlet mall just across the street from our hotel so we devoted an entire day of the vacation to shop! I guess it wasn't a totally waste cause I finally bought me some new shoes!
For one of the nights, we went and saw a show. (you can't go to Vegas without seeing a show!)

We went and saw David Copperfield at the MGM. It was so awesome!!!! This was the first really magic show I have ever been too and it was pretty cool! I actually got to go up on stage! I caught a frisbee he threw into the audience and he made a car-an actual, working car-appear right in front of my eyes!!!! Don't ask me how because I am still blown away by it!
Also we went to the adventure dome at Circus Circus and rode the rides there. We ate some DELICIOUS food at the Cheesecake factory in Caesar's Palace, and walked around the the strip a little.

The thing I was looking forward to the most was going to see the tigers at the Mirage. Garrett and I wanted to go last year for our honeymoon, but we didn't have time so this was something we definitely had to do this time. There is Sigfried and Roy's Secret Garden at the Mirage and they have more then tigers. We saw dolphins, lions, panthers, and Leopards.

These tigers were SO beautiful! I could have sat there all day and watched them! They also had some one year old cubs there and they were fun to watch! That was the highlight of the trip!
Our last stop in Vegas was the Famous Pawn Shop!

For those who watch Pawn Stars on TV, you'll know what I'm talking about. The Pawn shop wasn't as big as I thought it was going to be, but it was so still really cool!
It was a really fun trip and we had a really great time!

DYNAMITE!

This past weekend, Garrett and I drove to good ole' Redmond to celebrate Garrett's Grandpa Bosshardt's Birthday. The whole Bosshardt Family got together to shoot Dynamite! That's right! Dynamite!
Redmond Minerals does Dynamite Shoots as sort of a PR thing for all of their big clients and they have a pretty nice set up for their range behind the mine. There's a covered patio with tables and benches, a storage shed to store the BBQ's and heaters, shooting rests, and even a bathroom! It's pretty cool!

So Grandpa Ronny cooked us up some hamburgers and it was nice to talk with all the Bosshardt's.
Then after lunch, the fun began!
Garrett's uncle Kyle is in charge of the range for Redmond Minerals and does all the shoots out here so he is really careful about everything. He did let me hold a stick of dynamite though and that was pretty cool. Then Kyle goes out into the range and sets up a few sticks at 100, 200, 300, and 400 yrds. Then the shooting begins.

Garrett shot before me and he shot really well. It is so cool to see it and hear what it sounds like when you hit a stick of Dynamite. We all wore ear plugs because it is so loud! The farther distances had bigger sticks so they made a bigger BOOM! (This picture is just of the little 100 yard boom that Garrett hit, you should have seen the explosion at 400 yards!)

I shot after Garrett and I did really well if I do say so myself!

I didn't hit the 400 yard one though. Oh well, I guess we'll just have to go back again so I can get more practice!
This was so much fun and definitely something we'll have to do again!
BOOM!

Our New Home in Logan!

We live in Logan Now! YAY! We moved to our new house in Logan this past week and it has been fun fixing it all up and making it our home.

Thanks to all of our wonderful family who helped us move. We really have the best family in the world! We've got a nice place here in Logan and a lot more space! We've got a nice spacious living room and kitchen/dining room downstairs.

Then upstairs there's the master bedroom, one bathroom, a spare bedroom, and one more bedroom we are going to turn into our office.

Also down stairs we have a space for our washer and dryer (which I am so glad we have now!) and also we have a small fenced backyard where Garrett can BBQ some great things for me!
We are really excited for our new place and we think it will be a great place for us for a few years!
Again thanks to all of our wonderful family who has helped us! We love you all!

I'm Going to Be a TEACHER!

I am finally going to be a TEACHER! I was just hired as a Kindergarten teacher at Thomas Edison Charter School in Nibley. It is a small little town right next to Logan. I am so excited! From the first moment I walked into the school for my interview, it felt so great! I'll do some training over the summer on their curriculum and policies and then I'll get into my classroom on August 10th. The first day of school is the 24th of August. I am so excited to teach Kindergarten-it's my dream job!
This is such a great blessing for us. Garrett will begin attending Utah State University in the fall so now we are looking for a place to live in Cache Valley. I think we'll be around for a few years while Garrett is finishing school. What a great time in our life!

Trip to Memphis

This past week Garrett and I took a Trip to Memphis Tennessee! Garrett's Greenie from his Mission was getting married and asked Garrett to be in his wedding so we decided to fly out to Memphis for his wedding. We flew out from Salt Lake on Wednesday to Nashville and then Levi (Garrett's Greenie) drove us to Memphis. It was great to finally meet Levi and his finance. They are great people!
Memphis was fun and our Hotel was right in Downtown Memphis right next to the Mississippi River.

We spent the next few days helping them get ready for the wedding and touring Memphis.
Because most of their family are not members of the church, they had a temple wedding, but also did a Wedding Ceremony for the rest of their family. I reminded me of all the weddings you watch in movies with the huge wedding parties-lunch buffets-Dj's-wedding rehearsals-toasts by the best man. It was a little different, but we had a really good time.
The Memphis Temple was so small, but still so beautiful!
Garrett and I were a little limited to what we could go see because we didn't have a car, but there were a few things we could go walk to. Memphis is called the birth place of Blues and Jazz so there is quite a famous street in Memphis called Beale Street. We walked down the street which was full of jazz clubs and tourist shops. We went to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe which had the second largest Elvis memorabilia in the world. We also got to see where they drop the guitar for New Year's Eve.

Tennessee wasn't very pretty (I guess I'm just bias to Utah) but it was really fun to spend time together and we had a really great New Year!

Christmas!!!

Garrett and I add a wonderful First Christmas! It was really great to spend a little Christmas with both families and enjoy being home. We spent Christmas Eve at Grandma Velma's house eating some great food, talking with family, and acting out the Nativity (yes both Garret and I did have parts-he was a wise man and I was an angel) We also stopped by Mom and Dad's to see the kids right before they went to bed and we opened up some great pj pants from Heidi and Jeniel. (Thanks!)
Then Christmas morning at the Bosshardt's was a little different because all of the presents are wrapped-even the ones from Santa-so we did a lot of unwrapping!

Santa brought us a WII for Christmas this year and we are so super excited!

Garrett gave me a beautiful picture of the Manti temple and a Jewlery box. I gave Garrett a case for his Dutch oven and also....da da da da! Jazz ticketts! He kept saying all season that he wanted to go to a game to now we are! YAY!

After we were finished at Garrett's house, we drove to Aurora to open presents with my family. It was a lot of fun with all of the little kids! They just make Christmas so much fun! It was fun to give mom and dad their present this year. They have done so much for their children over the past thirty years and now they can take some time for themselves! (I love you MOM and DAD!)
Jeniel gave me some really great slippers and a gift card to Borders. Garrett got a great new blue ray movie from Tori!

After presents of course we headed to Grandma J's for breakfast and the rest of the Holiday was just wonderful! What a great Christmas!
