Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day!
Our Valentines Tradition began a few years ago when Garrett and I were dating. Garrett surprised me with a romantic dinner in his basement with a beautifully decorated table, gorgeous bouquet of flowers, and a delicious dinner of Chicken Cordon Bleu. Every year since, we have enjoyed a wonderful dinner at home and just being together.

The day began with me heart-attacking the house for Garrett! It was fun to put hearts all over!

School was uneventful because we had our Valentines day party last Friday, but we did get to eat cake because the school was celebrating Thomas Edison's birthday.
I came home to a beautiful bouquet of yellow daisies! (My Favorite-Thanks Babe!)

Together, we made a delicious and may I add good looking dinner of Chicken Cordon Bleu, roasted red potatoes, asparagus, and soft rolls.

For desert, I made a delicious Strawberry Cheesecake Trifle. I got this recipe from my mother in law and we absolutely love it! YUM!

We had a wonderful Valentines Day! Thank you to all of our sweet family members who sent us Valentines!

Always Fun in Kindergarten!

I have to say that I have the best job in the whole world. I never hate going to work, I get told that I'm the best teacher in the world everyday (along with many hugs), and I get to spend six hours a day with the best kids ever! Could a job get better than that? We have a lot of fun and still learn a lot. I am so amazed how much these kids are learning and how much more they want to.
It still is my first year so I am learning as I go, but we have done a lot of fun things these past few weeks.
It was the 100 day of school the other day and of course we had to celebrate. Everything we did that day had to do with 100. Each of the children brought a collection of 100 things and for math and we counted, sorted and compared all of their collections. We made 100 glasses, wrote our own stories, and had a lot of fun. Another great thing that I did was cut out 100 flowers (thanks mom and dad for the awesome Cricut) and put them all over my room. (I put them on the ceiling, walls, cupboards, chalkboard, doors)

The children really enjoyed finding and counting all of them. Happy 100th day of School!

As part of the state core curriculum, Kindergarteners are supposed to know different things about animals. We spent a whole day on animals reading stories, playing games, and doing fun crafts. Check out our Farm Mural we made to hang out in the hall. My kids are very creative thinkers and they love to do art projects. I think it turned out really cute!

Today we had our Valentines parties and they totally rocked. I have got some great Room Parents who plan and put on some great class parties. For my Valentine that I gave to my class, I cut out these really cute bags (I just love that Cricut!) and filled them full of candy.

At the end of school in December (before Christmas Break) I had all of the kids clean out their desks and get all new crayons. Well, I took all of the old broken crayons and made heart crayons for my kids for Valentines day. I think they turned out really cute and the kids loved them.

See, don't I just have the best job ever!
