This past weekend, we had a family trip to Salt Lake City. It was my niece Madyson's 10th birthday on Saturday and so we decided to celebrate it by spending the weekend in Salt Lake and perhaps create a new family tradition. (last year we spent a weekend in SLC before mom and dad went to New York) We stayed at Little America Hotel which is always so much fun! The kids really enjoyed the swimming pool and the best part was the weekend breakfast buffet. We went over to the Grand America Hotel, looked at the decorated windows, got the best tasting butter cookie ever, and Ira even bought some delicious Macaroons to try! Then we took the train (to the much delight of all the kids) downtown. There was a lot of fun things to see at City Creek including a fun train at Deseret Book. Then we went to the Joseph Smith Building and had dinner at The Garden. After dinner, we walked around the beautiful Temple Square and looked at all the lights. It was pretty cold and it was fun to have a little snow. Ronnie spent the whole time nice and warm in his stroller. We went back to the hotel, the kids went swimming, Mady opened her presents, and then mom read a Christmas story while we had cookies and hot cocoa.
Sunday morning we all woke up early and went to the Conference Center to watch the Tabernacle Choir in Music and the Spoken word. It was really neat and the funnest part was watching our whole family run down the sidewalk trying to catch the train! We had a delicious breakfast at the hotel and enjoyed spending time together. What a fun weekend and it will be something we look forward to doing each year.
Baby Traeger and Little Ronnie! They are so much fun to put together. Fun Friends!
