Our First Christmas Tree

This year is Me and Garrett's first Christmas together and we were so excited to get our tree. I love our family tradition of hunting for trees after Thanksgiving. We had such a fun time with all the kids. It was fun to watch Kyan walk around with his play saw ready to cut down a tree and Taylie getting stuck in the snow. Morgie wasn't feeling good so she didn't come, but we had fun playing in the snow with Makenzie and Mady!

It took me a little while to finally decide on the perfect tree, but we did find it!

Then on Sunday when we got home, we just had to stay up to put up the tree and decorate it. We had a lot of lights to put on it because Dad had a whole bunch of lights from a really important event this past summer and I even strung the ribbon I saved from our wedding cake on the tree too. Garrett had a lot of old ornaments from his Grandmother through the years and we enjoyed decorating our tree together. It is the perfect little tree for our perfect little apartment. I love Christmas!

Gingerbread Houses!

So one of my favorite Thanksgiving Traditions was watching all of the "Old Ladies" make Gingerbread houses at the ranch. Well this year (because I am married now) got the special privilege of making a house too! I was so excited to make one-It was finally my turn! We spent several hours Thanksgiving Evening decorating our beautiful houses! It was so much fun and definitely Mine turned out the cutest!

(Grandma made some smaller house pieces of gingerbread so Heidi and Whit got to share the fun and made their own little house.)

The Latest

So I've really been getting a lot of guff from certain members of the family (IRA!) about not updating our blog for a while. Time just goes by so fast here at the Bosshardt house. (Yes, Casey I am a Bosshardt now not a Mickelsen) And actually I guess I can't say "house" so apartment. Anyway Garrett and I are doing really well and loving life. I'm still not so sure about Ogden? But anyway I am loving school and can't believe that I am less then half a semester away from finally graduating and getting that wonderful piece of paper that says I can finally teach. I am absolutely loving my student teaching right now. My preschoolers are so awesome and I really can't wait to go to school everyday. This last week I planned so many fun activities to go along with my Theme Fall Harvest. We painted with corn, explored pumpkins and squash, raked leaves, made scarecrows, learned how things grow, ground corn and made muffins, made a classroom quilt, painted pumpkins, and even on Friday we went trick-or-treating around campus. It was such a blast! I also love my job. For those of you who don't know, I work at a child care center called Little Brigham Aggies. It is right on the BC campus for USU and we care for the professors' and students' children. Most of the students in Brigham City are parents who are coming back to school and they can bring their children to LBA while taking their classes. Most of the time I am in the infant area taking care of all of the babies ages 0-2. It is crazy taking care of 4 babies at once, but I do love it!
Garrett goes to school during the day and works in the evenings. He studies a lot and we don't get to see each other much, but it makes the weekends really great. We also have received callings in our ward. Garrett is the Secretary in the Elders Quorum and I was called as the Valiant 10 teacher in primary and an Activity Day Leader. So we are busy a lot.
Anyway that's the latest news about us. Sorry there are no pictures, but I will soon change that now that I found the camera. See ya later!
